Infection Control
Proper infection control and universal precautions are followed to benefit both our patients and our staff.
Progressive Dentistry follows the guidelines of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
All non-disposable equipment is sterilized before every use an autoclave. This device uses steam, heat, and pressure to kill bacteria and viruses. In addition, the following guidelines of universal precaution are followed:
- Use of disinfectant hand soap
- Use of gloves, face masks and safety glasses (glasses are also provided for patients)
- Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces
- Sterilization of all equipment before every use
- Use of disposable materials
