Dental Implants
What are dental implants?
An alternative to dentures, dental implants (small dental appliances that are inserted into the upper and lower jaws) help to restore the mouth that has a single missing tooth, multiple missing teeth, or no restorable teeth at all. Dental implants are quickly replacing dentures used by some people, as they provide many advantages over traditional dentures, including:
- Reduce movement of dentures
- Facilitate proper chewing
- Provide support and improved stability for removable dentures or fixed bridge work
- Approximate the "feel" of natural teeth better than dentures
- Remove the self-consciousness most people who wear dentures experience, as speech and appearance are often improved, and the guarantee that dentures will not slip from the wearers mouth upon speaking, laughing, etc.
Implants - (placed by a specialist/surgeon) restored by us with crowns, bridges or overdentures,
to firmly restore or replace missing teeth without the unpleasant necessity of removing your teeth
at night or cutting down other remaining teeth to support a new prosthesis. |
